On Mondays and Wednesdays at 5:30, the bubbly and enthusiastic Marlene Jacks leads a group of 25 - 40 students, professors, and college staff in an hour work-out, as we dance our feet off to a melange of international tunes. Salsa, rumba, belly dancing, Bollywood… you name it.
Anyone can join at any time! The most important thing with zumba, though, is that you let go, dance like no one’s watching (because honestly, no one else really is looking at you), don’t be afraid of being silly, and you’ll have a great time.
All it takes is two students to create a student organization on campus. Which is why we have had an anime appreciation club, a we love squirrels club, a club that gets together to eat cheese every week, and numerous other quirky ones.
All it takes is two students and you can apply to get Student Government funding to support your club’s goals and needs.
Being able to borrow skiis from the GORP (Grinnell Outdoor Recreation Program) office and learning how to cross country skii (thank you Grinnell Nordic Society members!) on a random Sunday afternoon in February.

While that might not sound awesome at first, when they are accompanied by Burling staff passing out candy and pipecleaners (no joke) it makes quite a hilarious sight.
The basic premise: you walk around the Noyce sundial to music and when the music stops, someone wins a cake!
